Description	An ontology of imaging and related techniques and technologies, image processing and analysis, image data and formats, within bio- and other sciences. EDAM Bioimaging is an extension to the EDAM ontology (edamontology.org), dedicated to imaging and (bio)image informatics. It has been developed by an open, global community of contributors, including consortia and projects such as NEUBIAS/GloBIAS, COMULIS, ELIXIR, Euro-BioImaging, vEM, QUAREP-LiMi, foundingGIDE, EOSC OSCARS, and more, within bio- and other sciences.

Notes	June 2026: After some delays, the final pre-release of the production version 1.0 is finally happening during this month. This version will include persistent, resolvable identifiers for all concepts; a merged version with the main EDAM; and coverage of microscopy across bio- and other sciences (e.g. materials science and solid-state physics, chemistry, geology, archaeology, cultural heritage), and both clinical and preclinical medical imaging.
