| Description | Here, we introduce the Parkinson’s disease ontology (PDO) as a comprehensive semantic framework covering the whole breadth of the Parkinson’s knowledge domain. This ontology with a subclass-based taxonomic hierarchy not only covers the broad spectrum of major biomedical concepts from molecular to clinical features of the disease, but also the different views on disease features held by molecular biologists, clinicians and drug developers. This resource has been created for use in the IMI-funded AETIONOMY project (www.aetionomy.org). |
