user-description

In early animal development, a process by which the single-layered blastula becomes a three-layered stage called a gastrula. Gastrulation involves the migration of cells inward, forming an invagination which becomes the archenteron. Gastrulation also establishes the three embryonic germ layers: ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm.
