We included any instance where a patient was anxious, or reported anxiety or being afraid of something, regardless of the diagnosis. We scored as TRUE: anxiety; anxious; phobia; panic attacks; fear; nervous(ness). We did NOT score: ambiguous sentences; patient is afraid e.g. patient was afraid of getting cancer/other disease (this can be a temporary/transient fear). “Patient's family were afraid...”. |
