A symptom, not a disease, of a twisted neck. In most instances, the head is tipped toward one side and the chin rotated toward the other. The involuntary muscle contractions in the neck region of patients with torticollis can be due to congenital defects, trauma, inflammation, tumors, and neurological or other factors. Torticollis, also known as wry neck, is a dystonic condition defined by an abnormal, asymmetrical head or neck position, which may be due to a variety of causes. The term torticollis is derived from the Latin words tortus for twisted and collum for neck. 斜颈可分为先天性肌性斜颈和先天性骨性斜颈。前者是由于一侧胸锁乳突肌挛缩引起的头颈歪斜的先天性颈部畸形，相当多见；后者是因颈椎骨质发育畸形所致的斜颈，较少见。 |
