An aneurysm is a weak spot in an artery, sort of like a weak spot in a tire that balloons out. An aneurysm is an abnormal dilatation of an artery, and in the brain commonly arises at a branch site on a parent artery. Aneurysms are usually discovered after they rupture, producing subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). |
