Synonyms
Definitions

Atrioventricular dissociation can develop in response to severe sinus bradycardia with AV junctional rhythm or with an enhanced lower (junctional or ventricular) pacemaker that competes with the normal sinus rhythm and exceeds it. Atrioventricular (AV) dissociation is present if the atria and the ventricles are under the control of two separate pacemakers. AV dissociation can occur in the absence of a primary AV conduction disturbance.
