Definitions

An epileptic seizure originating within unilateral networks limited to the temporal lobe. Temporal lobe seizures are characterized by behavioral arrest and impaired awareness. There may be sensory (auditory), emotional (fear), cognitive (deja vu) or autonomic features (epigastric sensation, tachycardia, color change) in isolation or prior to onset of impaired awareness.
