LC-MS |
|
Definitions |
An analytical technique in that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography (LC) with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry (MS). Molecular mixtures are initially separated into components based on their chemicophysical properties and the properties of the liquid and stationary phases of the column. As these components exit the column, they are subjected to mass spectrometry for identification based on their mass-to-charge ratio and behavior in a magnetic field. |
