Description | The Epilepsy Ontology (BioPortal ID: EpSO) is an application ontology developed to support epilepsy research, patient care, and health system management. The updated version of the Epilepsy Ontology adds neuropathology terms, including immunohistochemistry, microscopy, anatomical description, and referential mappings to the ILAE 2017 classification of seizure types. This work is co-funded by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), which also retains intellectual ownership of the ontology, together with the Case Western Reserve University and collaborating institutions.
