Description: “This research project was funded in 2014 by the National Science Foundation- The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) under 1501 type funding program with the ‘3140417’ grant number. The titled “Mobile Pediatric Consultation and Monitoring System” project was successfully completed by the end of 2015. The project was completed by collaboration of the Acıbadem Hospitals Group, Istanbul Aydin University and Semantica Software Services Trd. Ltd. Company in Turkey .The project was completed with the technical contribution of a total 17 scientists, electric/electronics engineers, computer and software engineers and also pediatricians in Acıbadem Hospitals Group. Copyrights of the system is reserved in 2014 by both Semantica Internet and Software Services Trd. Ltd. Co. and Acıbadem Hospitals Group. In addition, initial proposal of the system was presented as a conference paper in the IEEE 38th International Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops (COMPSACW) in 2014. Project Desciption: Mobile Pediatric Consultation and Monitoring System (mPCMS) is a research and development project and a rule-based healthcare expert system for pediatric patients. mPCMS provides to perform remote consultation and monitoring of pediatric patients during their illness period at distant places from medical service areas. The main contributions of the proposed system compared to other research studies neither is producing mobile-enabled medical apparatus nor is not developing an ordinary m-health app, but actually to put forth a smart expert healthcare system that involves Pediatric Consultation and Monitoring Ontology, a Semantic Web Rule Knowledgebase and Inference Engine. Ontology Details: The Pediatric Consultation and Monitoring Ontology consists of 10 main classes, 10 sub-classes, 13 object-type properties and 9 sub-object-type properties, 6 data type properties, numerous OWL individuals and approximately 61 medical cases as ontology rules.
