| editorialNote | Term moved as part of partitioning Taxonomy NTs away from Animals division, provoked by New Terms Amphioxus and Chordata 2013/09/05 (RD) Acorn worms are Hemichordates but NT relationship not made explicit because we do not want specific named Animals to BT back to Taxonomy. 2013/09/05 (RD)

| scopeNote | Hemichordata is a phylum of marine deuterostome animals, generally considered the sister group of the echinoderms. They appear in the Lower or Middle Cambrian and include two main classes: Enteropneusta (acorn worms), and Pterobranchia. A third class, Planctosphaeroidea, is known only from the larva of a single species, Planctosphaera pelagica. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemichordate RD
