Numerous very different kinds of reconstruction exist, depending on the different imaging modalities: CT, MR, PET, SPECT, MEG etc. Some of the reconstruction problems are: reconstruction from projections (e.g. CT, PET, SPECT), reconstruction from k-space acquisitions (MR), reconstruction of sources in MEG/EEG, reconstruction from radiofrequency data in ultrasound.
