Bill Duncan 12/16/2014: Updated definition. Original defintion: A dental procedure in which a part of a tooth that has been lost due to disease, trauma or other causes is replaced by dental restoration material in order to reestablish the tooth's anatomical form and function. A tooth restoration procedure achieves some tooth restoration objective specification. 1. Added "either a whole tooth or part of a tooth", since implants and pontics are also restoration procedures. 2. Removed "that has been lost due to disease, trauma or other causes". This is information about why a restoration procedure may be performed, not necessarily what such a procedure is.

Bill Duncan: Removed axiom for tooth restoration procedure that has specified output some "has_part some (Tooth and ('has role' some 'tooth to be restored role'))". My reasons for doing this are: 1) the 'has role' axiom looks wrong. The restoration process realizes the role, but it sounds odd for the process to output the role. 2) Since the tooth restoration process outputs a restored tooth, a restored tooth by definition/axiom has part some (tooth and dental restoration material).
