scope note |
The rostral and medial extents of the corpus callosum were the medial division of the orbitofrontal cortex and the isthmus division of the cingulate cortex respectively. The medial and lateral boundaries were the medial wall (area unknown) and the divisions of the cingulate cortex respectively. Note this label is used to restrict the boundaries of other labels and not actually used as a measure of the corpus callosum itself (CFN). In some of the mouse BIRN atlases, the corpus callosum also includes the cingulum and the external capsule. The boundaries between these bundles are indistinct in the MRI and Nissl (MM: 2006-10-26). |
