| Scope Statement | This term represents the organism-specific culture for measles virus in clinical specimens for public health purposes. Acceptable specimen types include nasopharyngeal and conjunctival swabs, cervical and rectal swabs, vesicle fluid, stool, urine, serum, blood, CSF, and autopsy or biopsy specimens. This term was created for, but is not limited in use to, the Georgia State Department of Public Health.
