It is separated from the corpus callosum by the callosal sulcus and its dorsal surface is bounded by the cingulate sulcus. As part of the Circuit of Papez, the cingulate gyrus receives a major input from the anterior nucleus of the thalamus and from wide areas of the neocortex and in turn projects via the cingulum to the entorhinal cortex of the parahippocampal gyrus. |
