DesignNote |
Coagulation factor V has no activity until it is cleaved by thrombin into two chains, called coagulation factor V heavy chain and coagulation factor V light chain. The two chains are non-covalently bound in a complex, factor Va, which is a cofactor that enhances the enzymatic activity of coagulation factor Xa.
