In [Shafer2001] we find the following definition of Context: Dey et al. define context as "any information that can be used to characterize the situation of entities (i.e., whether a person, place, or object) that are considered relevant to the interaction between a user and an application" (p. 106). Thus, context awareness implies two attributes of a system: the ability to obtain context and the ability to utilize contextual information. For the purpose of this ontology, a Context is the architectural description of the environment (external settings, components and procedures) on which a Subject interacts with it, during a Session. |
