definition | A movement disorder which consists of effects including diminished voluntary movements and the presence of involuntary movements. Paroxysmal, episodic or transient dyskinesia can be symptoms of transient cerebral ischemia in the territory of the internal carotid artery (ICA) or the vertebrobasilar system. Repetitive stereotyped, often complex involuntary limb movements have been reported in the literature as carotid TIA. The movements are described as rhythmic or arrhythmic, uncontrollable, transient, lasting a few seconds to minutes, and are elicited by sitting, standing or stress, rarely kinesigenic or progressive. |
