A TGF-beta superfamily receptor type-1 that is a translation product of the BMPR1B gene. Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signals are transmitted by type 2 and type 1 serine/threonine kinase receptors. Type 2 receptors phosphorylate and activate type 1 receptors which autophosphorylate, then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. Receptor for BMPS/OP-1.
